Chicken Soup Factory – Representative of electoral District 12 Montserrado County, Dr. George Beyan Samah says he is seeking a better working relationship with constituents of his District to restore their hope and aspiration.
Rep Samah at a ‘Thanks and Appreciation’ ceremony for 16 communities in the District pledged to make it a place where people of all ages can count on the future of the district.
“To be an effective legislator involves listening to resident of the district, translating their concerns into workable proposals and building consensus to implement them,” Rep Samah stated.
“I cannot do this work without the participation and openness of the people I represent. You have taken the time to share with me your ideas, concerns, aspirations and your willingness to discuss what matters for our District than personal gains,” Rep Samah added.
Rep Samah recognized the vital role and numerous supports the people played during the elections to get him elected.
He further noted that is time that the people of reconcile after heated election processes and to work together for the betterment of the District.
“I promise to uphold the confidence you imposed in through your votes and with your support I promise to do my best to make District #12 second to none before the completion of my six years”, Rep Samah.
“There are no more opposing camps or election struggles, we are all winner and the people have won, therefore we must all unite to ensure a better District 12,” Rep Samah said.
Making a brief remark, one of the candidates who contested in the District, Mr. John H Mathies said the people need to rally support around the Lawmaker to achieve what they envisaged.
He, however, cautioned the Lawmaker to propose a bill that will help improve the messy education sector.
“In District 12 and Liberia as a whole, we feel like our teachers no longer have confidence in what they teach our students in school because during public tests, they are here and there finding answers for students,” Mr. Mathies assertion.
”Honorable Representative, we need a legislation on that. We need to move the Liberian education forward from this messy education to more promising and vibrant education system,” Mr. Mathies stated.
Also making a remark, Mr. Isaiah M Sarkor, who also contested the in the District has called community leaders to work with the Lawmaker to achieve the developmental agenda for the benefit of all.
“The community leaders should be able to work together with the Lawmaker with the help of the District Council to develop our District that all we be proud of,” Mr. Sarkor.
“Leaders of the communities need to inform their members to accomplish the goal of development and not be self-centered and mean to their members,” Mr. Sarkor said.
Meanwhile, Rep Samah donated forty bags of rice to the 16 communities, five cartons of fish and 6,000LD each except for Chicken Soup factory who took 12,000LD and four bags of rice due to their population.
