MONROVIA – One supporter of the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is feared dead and several others injured following a tragic motor accident along the Japanese Freeway Drive, outside Monrovia.
The incident occurred when a commercial tricycle (kehkeh) and motorbike carrying CDC supporters collided with a yellow bus belonging to the Invincible Eleven Majestic Sports Association.
The rider of the tricycle, who is yet to be identified, was reported to be dead.
Two other female victims were rushed to a nearby clinic by some of those who rushed on the scene when the incident happened.
The victims were on their way to form part of the campaign launch of the CDC at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.
“We saw the bus dragging them here and the other woman foot break. Everybody was confused and we started looking for kehkeh to put her in to go to the hospital. This is the kehkeh driver lying down on the ground,” an eye witness stated.
Onlookers and passers-by couldn’t hold back their tears after taking a glance of the incident.
Officers of the LNP later went on the scene to investigate the incident.
