Liberia: Joint Security To Dispatch Team To Investigate Lofa County Clashes

MONROVIA — The Joint Security is to shortly dispatch its Special Investigation Team for the 2023 General and Presidential Elections to investigate clashes in Foya, Lofa County, which occurred today, reportedly between individuals believed to be supporters of the Congress for Democratic Change and the Unity Party.

The team is mandated by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General to fast-track the investigation and report its findings the soonest.

The Joint Security Media Relations Team will, on tomorrow, September 30, 2023, provide an initial update on the incident in Foya, Lofa County.

Supporters of rival political parties are urged to desist from violence during and after these elections, and strictly adhere to the Farmington Declaration signed by all political parties.
