Monrovia – Monsterrado County District #10 lawmaker, Yekeh Kolubah, has clarified he is not in hiding as is being claimed in some quarters in Monrovia.
The Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice on June 18, 2019 issued a Writ of Arrest on Rep. Kolubah and four others for alleged aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit murder, kidnapping, criminal facilitation and solicitation.
In a live Facebook interview with Hott TV, Rep. Kolubah said he is not hiding. “I am not hiding from anyone. In fact, I attended session yesterday and I have also been in my district trying to see how I can improve the well-beings of my people.
Continuing, he added: “If this government doesn’t have anything to do, let President Weah continue to direct his energy at trying to arrest Yekeh Kolubah while the common people continue to suffer.”
Rep. Kolubah also said he is yet to receive any Writ of Arrest from the court, promising. “I have only been hearing the court has a Writ of Arrest for me but I haven’t received it yet,” he said.
Describing the Liberia National Police as a personal security firm of President George Weah, Rep. Kolubah said he doesn’t trust the police.
Rep. Kolubah said nothing will stop him from advocating for Liberians.
On June 18, 2019, the Grand Jury of Montserrrado County formally indicted five men, including Rep. Kolubah, on charges of aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit murder, kidnapping, criminal facilitation and criminal solicitation.
Those indicted alongside Kolubah were Oliver Konneh, Abu K. Mohammed, Johnson Kpor and Mohammed A. Kaba. They, except the Representative, were on Tuesday arraigned before the Criminal Court “A” upon the order of Resident Judge Roosevelt Willie where the indictment was served them.
