BUCHANAN, Grand Bassa County – In a bid to accelerate infrastructural development and improve basic social services, the Grand Bassa County Administration, headed by Superintendent Karyou Johnson, has officially launched a competitive bidding process for several high-impact development projects, including local road construction, a new maternity center, and the procurement of operational vehicles.

According to official communications from the County Administration, the upcoming development initiatives will be fully funded by the Government of Liberia through allocations in the national budget.

The bidding window is strictly open to qualified, legally registered companies that meet all national regulatory standards.

County authorities disclosed that interested and eligible bidders can obtain the official bidding documents free of charge from the Procurement Office, located at the County Administrative Building in Buchanan City.

The procurement packages have been made available to the public as of Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Providing specifics on the projects, local officials noted that the targeted road construction project will take place within the capital of Buchanan City to improve urban mobility.

Concurrently, the proposed maternity center will be constructed in Electoral District #2, Grand Bassa County, to alleviate healthcare delivery challenges for pregnant women and newborns in that region.

The administration also noted that the vehicle purchase project is designed to enhance logistics and support the field operations of the Grand Bassa County Administration.

In line with statutory requirements, the county leadership announced that mandatory site visits will be coordinated for all interested bidders prior to the submission deadlines to ensure accurate project assessments.

The Grand Bassa County Administration emphasized that the entire procurement cycle will strictly adhere to the guidelines, rules and procedures enshrined in the Public Procurement and Concessions Act (PPCA) to guarantee maximum fairness, open competition and fiscal transparency.

Qualified companies are urged to ensure their proposals are comprehensively detailed and submitted before the stipulated deadlines.

According to county authorities, these projects represent a critical phase of ongoing local government efforts to sustainably upgrade public infrastructure, expand access to quality maternal healthcare and strengthen public administration across Grand Bassa County.
