The Bushrod Island based club and Caldwell United confirmed Vakaba’s loan spell on Monday after they agreed that in principle.

Caldwell United said “We have completed a one season loan deal with Global Pharma FC for our striker Vakaba Kamara.

Since the end of the 2023/2024 season, it has been no secret of the fact the club needs a striker to strengthen the squad.

A statement from Global Pharma said “Global Pharma Football Club is pleased to confirm that Vakaba Kamara has joined the club on loan from Caldwell United until the end of the 2024/2025 season with an option to buy.

Vakaba, who has been on trial with the Pharmacists, impressed the technical staff and fans during the just-ended Borough Cup.

The attacker won the Most Valuable Player award of the preseason tournament after he scored three goals.

Kamara said: “I feel privileged to be joining Global Pharma Football Club. It’s a fantastic feeling to now have the chance to pull on the famous Green shirt. I’ve seen this club progress under coach Keatu Smith who I consider a father since he took over the team and can’t wait to start playing my part in pushing the team towards its aims.

“Whatever happens in the next few months, I can promise to give everything to the club for as long as I am here.

“I thank everyone and my parent club Caldwell United for playing  a part in getting me to this stage, and now I am looking forward to getting involved straight away.“

Sylvanus Morris, Global Pharma FC president, said: ”Vakaba   is a young player with a consistent goal scoring record, and his attributes will add a further dimension to our squad for the new season.

“We were also attracted by his strong personality and dedicated approach to football, which fits perfectly with the spirit that Keatu is building within our squad. He has shown a huge desire to join us and be part of what we’re striving to achieve this season.”

Vakaba is the second player that has moved from United to Global Pharma following the loan deal of Fredrick Bono to the pharmacists.
