MONROVIA — Former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor is set to receive medical attention outside detention under strict conditions imposed by Criminal Court “C” Judge Ousman F. Feika amid ongoing concerns about her health.

The court’s decision comes after Howard-Taylor’s lawyers raised medical concerns and sought her release from detention to allow her to receive treatment.
Under the court’s directive, Howard-Taylor is required to surrender all travel documents, effectively restricting her ability to leave the country while the case remains pending.
The former vice president will also be subject to limitations on visitors at her residence, with access restricted to a family member and her physician or physician’s assistant.
Howard-Taylor remains entangled in an ongoing investigation and prosecution involving allegations connected to an alleged transnational cocaine-trafficking operation.
Her legal team has maintained that her medical condition requires appropriate care, while the case continues to attract public attention because of the seriousness of the allegations.
The court’s latest action provides for medical considerations while maintaining judicial controls over Howard-Taylor as proceedings continue.
