MONROVIA – As Liberia gears up for its first-ever National Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition, the Ministry of Mines and Energy has signed a major service agreement with international events firm AME Trade Ltd. to organize and execute the high-profile gathering aimed at attracting investment and showcasing the country’s natural resource potential.
The agreement, signed on May 7, 2026, outlines a strategic collaboration between the Ministry and AME Trade Ltd. to plan, market, finance, and deliver the international conference and exhibition, which is expected to bring together investors, policymakers, development partners, and key industry stakeholders from across the globe.
Minister of Mines and Energy, R. Matenokay Tingban, signed on behalf of the Government of Liberia, while Mahad Ahmed represented AME Trade Ltd.
According to the agreement, AME Trade Ltd. will oversee the planning, promotion, and execution of the event, including sponsorship development, exhibition packaging, delegate sales strategies, and international publicity campaigns. The company will also design and manage the conference website, registration platforms, and marketing outreach.
AME Trade Ltd. is additionally expected to secure sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and delegates both locally and internationally as part of efforts to elevate Liberia’s profile in the mining and energy sectors.
The Liberia Chamber of Mines is also playing a key role in the initiative by providing local industry insights and stakeholder recommendations to support the success of the event.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Ministry of Mines and Energy will provide official government endorsement and institutional backing for the conference. The Ministry will also issue letters of support and invitations where necessary, coordinate participation from public institutions and state agencies, and assist in mobilizing international delegations, investors, and development partners.
Organizers say the National Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition is intended to position Liberia’s mining and energy sectors for greater productivity, increased international visibility, and enhanced foreign direct investment opportunities.
The agreement further stipulates that AME Trade Ltd. will bear the full financial cost of organizing the event, with the Government of Liberia assuming no financial liability for any potential losses incurred.
Meanwhile, the Liberia Chamber of Mines is expected to receive 20 percent of the net profits generated from the conference, payable within 30 days after the event concludes.
Officials described the agreement as a significant milestone in advancing Liberia’s mining and energy ambitions and expressed confidence that the conference will open new avenues for investment and sectoral growth.ii
