Liberia: Agro-Life Donates Infant Rice Cereal to Boost Child Nutrition In Liberia

Monrovia — The Ministry of Health, through its Nutrition Division, has received a donation of 498 packs of infant rice cereal from the Agro-Life Food Processing Plant, reaffirming efforts to strengthen child health and nutrition across Liberia.

The donation is part of Agro-Life’s commitment to supporting early childhood development by improving access to nutritious foods for infants.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Victor Young, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agro-Life Food Processing Plant based in Kakata, Margibi County, described the initiative as a way of giving back to society.

“We see it as our responsibility to contribute to the well-being of children across Liberia, and we will continue to support the fight against malnutrition,” Mr. Young stated.

Receiving the consignment on behalf of the Ministry, Dr. Caullau Jabbeh-Howe, Assistant Minister for Preventive Services, commended Agro-Life for the gesture and reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to work with local food processors in addressing child nutrition challenges.

The Ministry of Health has in recent years intensified collaboration with private sector actors and development partners to combat malnutrition, which remains a major threat to child survival and development in Liberia.
