Monrovia – Representative Zoe Emmanuel Pennue (District #1 Grand Gedeh) has received a petition from county university students based in Monrovia to re-contest as a representative of the district for a third term of office.
The students in their petition presented to their lawmaker on the grounds of the capitol Thursday, said they see him as the direct representation of the people of their district and the county at large.
The petitioners praised Rep. Pennue for his contributions toward the provision of scholarships for students from the county at various university and high schools in both Grand Gedeh and Montserrado counties.
The students among many things also praised their lawmaker for ably representing the people of District #1 Grand Gedeh County for the two terms as a representative.
The petitioners described the lawmaker as a formidable force for the district in 2017; while others called him the political Messi of Grand Gedeh County, specifically District #1.
“We the Grand Gedeh University Students Association call on you this day in this petition to contest as representative in the 2017 Presidential and general election in District #1 Grand Gedeh County.
The students said their petition is based on the fact that the lawmaker’s has transformed the lives of citizens in the county. “Rep. Pennue, your work as representatives for Grand Gedeh County makes us proud as university students and feel that it is only but necessary that you continue as our representative,” the student petition said.
In response, the lawmaker accepted the petition and agreed to contest again as their Representative in 2017. He promised to continue to do what he has been doing best in the interest of the people of the county.
Rep. Pennue however wants his kinsmen to embrace peace and jealously guide it something he said, is good for the growth and development of the county.
Said Rep. Pennue: “I whole heartedly accept this petition and I can assure you that I will be a candidate in the election and not only a candidate but your representative. My work here at the legislature speaks for me.
All that I have done for the people of my district are visible and that is why you are here today asking me to remain as your representative.”
