MONROVIA – The Republic of Ghana has instituted a stringent travel restriction in its bid to control the Coronavirus in the country. Ghana has confirmed at least six cases.
According to a new travel advisory released by the country’s Information Ministry, any traveller, except for Ghanaian citizens and persons with Ghana residence permits, who within 14 days has been to a country that has recorded at least 200 cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) will not be admitted into Ghana.
Airlines have been instructed not to allow such persons embark. Border posts have also been instructed to allow such persons into the Ghanaian jurisdiction.
Those who are otherwise allowed entry would have to abide by a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine.
Ghana has started deploying enforcement protocols in collaboration with state security and health authorities.
