The United Grand Gedeans for Sustainable Peace and Development condemned the recent communication sent to the President of the Republic of Liberia, through the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the press conference called by ‘senior concerned citizens’ of Grand Gedeh. We  the United Grand Gedeans for Sustainable Peace and Development call on them to desist from undermining the peace, stability, and development of the county by extension Liberia.

MONROVIA – The Liberia Coordinating Mechanism (LCM) acknowledges the investigative report published on April 8th by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the Global Fund (TGF) to fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria.  The OIG report highlights systemic fraud and misappropriation by the Liberian Ministry of Health (MoH), a Global Fund grant Principal Recipient, and recommends that robust actions are taken by the Government of Liberia.

MONROVIA – ArcelorMittal (‘the Company’) and the government of Quebec have announced a CAD$205 million investment by ArcelorMittal Mining Canada (‘AMMC’) in its Port-Cartier pellet plant, enabling this facility to convert its entire 10 million tonnes annual pellet production to direct reduced iron (‘DRI’) pellets by the end of 2025.

MONROVIA — River Cess County Senator Wellington Geevon-Smith has said authorities of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP), Afriland First Bank Liberia, and Cestos based MC2 Bank are expected to appear before the plenary of the Liberian senate to provide justification for alleged cut in civil servants’ salary through disbursement of checks at a local bank in River Cess.
