MONROVIA – The General Manager of Bea Mountain Mining Corporation (BMMC), Reza Karimiyan has admonished the workforce of the entity to reaffirm their collective dedication to the institution in 2023 and beyond. The Liberian Business Association (LIBA) has commended the Ministry of Commerce & Industry for halting the Lebanese-owned L’Oven Bakery from manufacturing ice cream, one of 16 businesses reserved for Liberians under the 2010 Liberian Investment Act.

Representatives of Communities affected by commercial logging in Liberia are calling on the Government of Liberia through the National Legislators to ensure that the communities’ land rental fees arrears are appropriated in the 2023 National Budget. At the same time, they are calling for the full payment of the total amount appropriated in the 2022 National Budget and allotted in the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning (MFDP) financial payment system as part of 30% share of Land Rental Fees for communities affected by commercial logging in Liberia.

MONROVIA – The Liberian Diaspora Agriculture Group (LiDAG), a US-based Liberian organization, is set to hold its First Annual Agricultural Exposition in Liberia. The ceremony is expected to be held at the Golden Key Hotel on January 6 and 7, 2023. LiDAG, which is a registered philanthropic group, says ‘Food Sufficiency is Human Rights. At this year’s Exposition, at least 100 participants are expected to come from the fisheries, oil palm, poultry, cocoa & coffee, & cash crops sectors.

MONROVIA – The AMI Group of Companies in Liberia has donated to the Ministry of Education and the National Commission on Higher Education (NCHE) the sum of US$200,000 to help Liberian students through scholarships within Liberia and donated over 400 bags of rice at the value of US$10,000 across various prisons and health centers in three counties.
