MONROVIA – The Partnership for Research on Vaccines and Infectious Diseases in Liberia (PREVAIL), a joint Liberia-United States clinical research partnership, is part of the Partnership for Research on Ebola Vaccinations (PREVAC), an international consortium that conducts research in West Africa. The PREVAC consortium (Liberia, Guinea, Mali, and Sierra Leone) includes scientists from PREVAIL, the French research organization Inserm, and from institutions in Africa, the United States, and the United Kingdom. MONROVIA – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Liberia and Proforest have produced a seven-minute animation that explains the importance of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) for local communities in any land claims and development. The animation which is designed for communities was screened and validated Wednesday, 14 December 2022 at a gathering in Monrovia that attracted civil society actors and representatives of line ministries, agencies and commission of Liberia and the Liberian media.

According to the Writ of Arrest from the Paynesville Magisterial Court, a copy of which is in the possession of FrontPageAfrica, Cllr. Aloysious T. Jappah is accused of allegedly influencing the private prosecutrix to purchase a car (Chevrolet 2014 Suv) from the USA and received US$4,950 since May 2022.

MONROVIA – Stakeholders in the mining and environmental sectors over the weekend reviewed portion of the draft mining law of Liberia relevant to artisanal miners and their stakeholders and provided inputs. Liberia Minerals and Mining Law of 2000 is obsolete and doesn’t meet current-day realities. Held in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, the gathering attracted members of the Artisanal and Small Scale Mining Working Group (ASMWG) and its Secretariat, civil society representatives, artisanal miners, representatives of ASM operatives, line ministries, agencies and commissions of Liberia.
