Internet services are slowly being restored across the affected west and central African regions.

West and Central Africa is experiencing a major internet outage. According to reports, the source of the outage is Ivory Coast, and it affects Gambia, Guinea, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin, Burkina Faso and Niger.
According to reports, damage to at least three under sea cables of the west coast of African is the cuase of the disruptions.
According to Microsoft, “multiple fiber cables on the West Coast of Africa — WACS, MainOne, SAT3, ACE — have been impacted which reduced total capacity supporting our Regions in South Africa”. The company also explains that the recent cable cuts in the Red Sea in combination with today’s cable issues, “has impacted all Africa capacity”.
