The AWF is an umbrella body of Christian Churches in Africa, as well as other Countries outside of Africa.

“We hope for only one round for the Presidential election of Liberia. A second round will be critical,” said AWF’s Vice President Mr. (Pastor) Christin Koffi, an Ivorian.

He made remarks at the Sunday’s Service (August 13, 2023) of the AWF’s Liberian member—Church of the Believers (COB), Inc. COB is headed by Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Zarwulogbo Liberty, Sr. (Liberian)

The Sunday’s Service was at COB’s Headquarters branch, located in New Matadi Estate, Sinkor, Monrovia.

Mr. Koffi was the Guest Preacher. The title of his sermon was: “The Importance of Liberia’s Presidential Election to AWF”, with the scriptural text taken from Romans 10:14-15.

The introductory parts of his speech were spoken in English; the main sermon was in French (translated into English by a male member)

Later, he informed the audience about the International Languages the AWF communicates through: English, French and Spanish; and that the Alliance’s Global Headquarters is in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

“The Alliance World Fellowship will stage a Prayer Festival for a peaceful Presidential election in Liberia, before voting time. The Prayer Festival is part of the Alliance’s Global Conference to be held in Liberia through the Alliance’s member—Church of the Believers,” the Vice President said.

Pastor Koffi said, the Global Conference for Liberia was planned for 2008, but shifted to 2021, and postponed to 2023, due to the Coronavirus pandemic in Liberia.

He relayed plead from the Global Headquarters to the entire membership of the AWF’s Liberian member (Church of the Believers, Inc.) to pray for a peaceful Presidential election in Liberia.

Illustrating the patriotic imperative for Liberians to pray for a peaceful Presidential election, the Alliance’s Vice President spoke about what he called “A True Story”.

The story was about a woman who changed her mind from committing suicide by a rope, inside her room, after a touring Preacher lectured her about “hope” on Jesus Christ.

“The touring Gospel preacher met this door locked from inside, but he pushed the door and saw the woman alone inside,” the Guest Preacher told his Liberian hosts.

The AWF’s Vice President told another story: A dead lady who communicated with her living female friend on her not telling her (dead friend) about Jesus Christ before she died.

“Female members of AWF’s Liberian member-Church, go out and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, too!” he referred to COB’s members.

For his part, the Head-Pastor of the Church of the Believers, Inc., Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Zarwulogbo Liberty, Sr., thanked the Global Headquarters of AWF for empathetically thinking about his Country on a “peaceful Presidential election, as well as a peaceful Legislative election,” the Liberian Clergyman noted.

The Preaching was preceded (came before) hilarious (laughter-invoking) and astonishing scenes, and testimonies.

The hilarious scene was the Guest Preacher’s gyration (dancing) to Liberian vernacular (Bassa) song by the host Church’s Adult Choir.

The astonishing scene was the collapse of a female member to the ground on the ‘power of the Holy Spirit’.

The testimonies were: God’s salvation during Liberia’s civil war, during Ebola, and COVID-19 (from adult twin sister Doris Toe and Annie Zammie); God’s salvation from paralyzing witchcraft (from Madam Yama Kollie); and God’s sustenance of a marriage for 20 years (from Madam Terrilyne Vornwonwou).
