Man, 38, ‘Sodomizes’ 8-Year-Old Boy in Nimba County

Ganta, Nimba County – The Women and Children Division of the Liberia National Police in Ganta, Nimba County has charged a 38-year-old man for allegedly sodomizing an 8-year-old boy.

According to Police charge sheet, suspect Kelvin Davis allegedly invited the survivor in a room where he carried out the act in the Hope Village community in Ganta.

Suspect Davis is a resident of the Toka Hill Community and had gone to visit his friends in the Hope Village.

The suspect, according to Police charge sheet, admitted that he carried out the act, and told our Nimba County correspondent that he was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the act.

Sodomy, and suspect Davis has been charged with rape and been sent to Court in Ganta.

Some residents in the city have expressed disappointment and they are calling on the government to take legal action against the suspect when found guilty.

Report said the minor has been sent to the Saclepea Health Center for Medical Treatment.

Several rural women in the county have expressed frustration with the situation, describing it as unlawful and calling for the suspect to be jailed for several years.
