Voinjama City, Lofa County – Former senatorial candidate of Lofa County has told graduating students of the School of Faith Mission in Kolba City, Lofa County to remain focused and determined in the pursuit of their academic endeavor.
Speaking as keynote speaker of program marking the 10th graduation ceremony of the School of Faith Pentecostal Mission School, Cllr. Joseph Jallah informed the graduating class of 2016/2017 that only a determined and hardworking student can make his family proud.
“You will make some critical decisions along the way.”
“If you choose the right decision, it might help you in the long run because you may not have people to help you,” he said.
“But you have to be determined even when you go to college.”
“When I got in the tenth grade, one year I didn’t go to school. We were doing mechanic work. So you have to be determined and not to give up easily,”
Jallah told the graduates to always think outside the box when doing things in order to be an exceptional person.
Continued Jallah: “Try to do something because right now the competition is so much. Even those who have graduated from college they haven’t started life yet.”
Jallah said the first action the students will take on themselves will determine how far they will go in life.
He called on the parents to remain patient with their children and continue to give them all the necessary support that is required to keep them in school.
“If you were not patient with them like my own parents were patient with me, you probably would not see this day.”
“Our parents sometimes make good decisions for us but we will never know it immediately. Even if you want to refuse it, be slow.”
“Don’t be in a hurry to refuse what your parents are suggesting to you,” he noted.
At the end of his speech, the eminent son of Lofa County pledged four laptop computers (one for the overall dux, and another one for the second dux, a female.
He also donated pledged two laptops for the administration of the School of Faith.
He noted that the laptops are currently available at his Monrovia office and will be delivered to the recipients in due course.
