Monrovia – The Ecumenical Women Organization (EWO), which is the women branch of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC), recently donated assorted items valued at several thousand Liberian dollars to the Healthpage Liberia kids home in Paynesville.
Making the donation to the home containing kids with Down Syndrome and other medical conditions, a representative of EWO, said as part of their usual annual plan, they usually extend helping hand to the “unfortunate.”
“So, we have come as a team to present these items to Healthpage, this humanitarian institution on behalf of our head Bishop Kortu Brown and our President, Mrs. Gloria Hage,” Mrs. Alfreda M. Parker, First Vice President, EWO, stated.
They thanked Madam Charlesetta N. Williams, founder and CEO, Healthpage Liberia, for having the passion to take care of kids with such medical conditions and for the “great work she’s doing for the children.”
The other women on Mrs. Parker’s team included Mrs. Salome A. Bortey, EWO/LCC Women Desk, Mrs. Pauline Roberts, Executive Member and Mrs. Clara Bass, Executive Member.
The women said the more God blesses their organization, the more they will extend their helping hands to other homes with less privileged Liberian children.
Receiving the items, Mrs. Williams thanked the head of the LCC, Bishop Kortu Brown and the head of the Ecumenical Women Organization, Mrs. Gloria G. Hage and all the other women who gave the items that were donated to the home for the kids.
The items included one large tissue bag containing 60 rolls, two boxes of Quaker’s Oats, three boxes of creamy wheat, six jars of cocoa powder and one box of salt. Other items were two bags of rice, one three-gallon container of vegetable oil, one box of laundry soap and one plastic bag of protein beans.
