Ministry of State Wins Double to Climax Intra Govermental League

Monrovia – President George Manneh Weah’s Ministry of State on Thursday, August 2, demolished the powerhouse of the Ministry of Youth and Sports 4-0 to be crowned Champions of the football category of the much-publicized Intra Governmental Tournament.

President Weah, at one of his best soccer displays, graciously trashed his former teammates to become double champions winning both the football and kickball titles.

Daniel Landford got the curtain raiser for the Ministry of State in the 29th minute followed by Binda Weah in the 82nd minute while Befter Doudu and the President added the icing on the cake in the 87th and 90th minutes, respectively to walk away with the trophy.

The Liberian leader was also decorated as the highest scorer netting eight goals and Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

 

He beat Lester Moore of the Judiciary, who also had eight goals in the Highest Scorer award category for leading his side to the Grand final and providing more assists.

In kickball, the State Ministry overturned a 2-0 home-run deficit to beat host Ministry of Youth and Sports 4-3 in an entertaining kickball Grand Final to snatch the kickball Crown.

The Ministry of State is the 2018/19 kickball champion of the Intra Governmental league, replacing former champ, Liberia Revenue Authority. The Ministry also replaces the Ministry of National Defense in football category.
