MONROVIA – Lofa County has unveiled its new technical staff for football and kickball ahead of the upcoming National County Sports Meet.

Former championship-winning tactician Kollie Korvah, popularly known as “Coach Mission,” returns to lead the football team, while former Margibi County coach Jerry Kennedy who led Grand Kru County to their historic first kickball final last year has been appointed head coach of the kickball squad.
The unveiling marks the official launch of what Lofa County Sports Steering Committee Chairman, Senator Momo Cyrus, describid as an ambititos campaign to restore the county’s dominant standing in the county meet.
Senator Cyrus emphasized Lofa’s rich athletic tradition, noting that early preparation and robust support will be central to their campaign.
“Because we are from Lofa and are known for extraordinary feats, we believe in thorough preparation and maximum support for our teams,” Senator Cyrus said.
The committee chairman also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for adjusting financial penalties levied against the county following incidents from the previous tournament.
According to Senator Cyrus, the Ministry reduced Lofa’s fine from US5,000toUS1,500.
Addressing previous setbacks including the disqualification of Lofa’s football team last year and the suspension of 17 players and staff—Senator Cyrus confirmed that the Kickball Federation has similarly reduced five-year bans on several Lofa players and coaches down to a single year.
“We are entering these games football, kickball, and basketball to make an undeniable statement,” Senator Cyrus declared.
“The public should be assured that Lofa County is returning with the drive required to dominate this year’s County Meet.”
Senator Cyrus noted that Lofa’s Legislative Caucus and key stakeholders have pledged full backing as preparations intensify.
The county has set a strict objective: sweeping the trophies across all three disciplines.
“Coach Mission” Returns
The reappointment of Kollie Korvah brings proven leadership back to Lofa’s football program. Korvah previously guided the county to a National County Sports Meet championship.
“Mission, as you are called, after thoroughly evaluating coaches across Liberia, we recognized your past championship success with Lofa,” Senator Cyrus said during the unveiling. “We believe you retain the tactical ability to bring us silverware once again.”
In response, Korvah expressed enthusiasm for his return to the helm.
“I am excited to return to serve my county after some years away,” Korvah said. “My mandate is clear and entirely achievable because I have maintained a winning record throughout my career. We are going to ensure the people of Lofa celebrarte once more.”
Korvah also addressed proposed Ministry guidelines restricting tournament participation to Third Division players, noting that his technical staff has already begun scouting top talent across the division to assemble a competitive squad.
Kennedy Promises Kickball Glory
Newly appointed kickball head coach Jerry Kennedy expressed equal confidence, promising to secure the championship despite lingering player suspensions.
Fresh off guiding Grand Kru to their maiden kickball final, the former Margibi tactician assured supporters he has the experience to pull off another deep tournament run.
“Despite the suspension affecting ninety percent of our previous roster, I am bringing in exceptional talent ready to win,” Kennedy stated.
“I am the Jose Mourinho of kickball players align with coaches who deliver results, and we intend to win.”
