According to a Writ of Arrest issued on November 3, and signed by Assistant Clerk of Court N. Markin Ponzuo, the court commanded Captain Charles Bloyuefloh of the Magisterial Police or his deputies to arrest Ms. Sumo and bring her before the Monrovia City Court, situated at the Temple of Justice Building, Montserrado County.
The arrest order stems from a formal complaint filed by the Ministry of Justice on behalf of the Republic of Liberia, alleging that on October 31, 2025 during a routine search at the Monrovia Central Prison, Ms. Sumo was caught throwing a substance through a window in an attempt to conceal or dispose of it.
Officers reportedly retrieved the substance outside the building, which was later identified as “Kush”, a synthetic drug with an estimated street value of US$1,000.
The writ charges Ms. Sumo with unlicensed possession, sale, and distribution of controlled drugs, in violation of Section 14.107 of the New Penal Law of Liberia.
The document describes her alleged actions as “criminal, illegal, and unconstitutional,” noting that they are contrary to the laws of the Republic and threaten “the peace and dignity” of the nation.
If arrested, Ms. Sumo is to be brought before the Monrovia City Court to answer to the charges for unlicensed possession, sale, and distribution of controlled drugs.
It remains unclear whether Ms. Sumo has legal representation at this time.
