In a fiercely contested encounter at the Samuel K Doe Sports Complex Practice Pitch in Paynesville, outside Monrovia both sides battled for control throughout the 90 minutes. The hosts created early pressure, but Borough FC held firm defensively, growing stronger as the game wore on.

Blackman Warriors was reduced to ten men in the second half after a reckless tickle on Vitalis Sie Jr.

The visitors’ patience paid off in the dying minutes when Sylvester Doe pounced on a loose ball from Clarence Sneh inside the box, firing low past the Warriors’ goalkeeper to send the Borough fans into celebration.

After the match, Borough FC Deputy Coach Theophilus Befford, commended his players for their discipline and determination.

“It was a hard-fought game, but the boys showed great composure,” Befford said. “We kept our shape, trusted our plan, and never stopped believing we could win. Sylvester’s goal was the result of teamwork and persistence.”

He added that the team’s mentality continues to grow with every performance.

“We’ve been emphasizing focus and unity,” he continued. “You could see that today even when things didn’t go our way early on, the players stuck together and pushed until the end.”

Midfielder Marvin Blapoh, who was instrumental in controlling the tempo of the game, also praised the team’s spirit and commitment.

“We came here knowing it would be a tough one,” Blapoh said. “The Warriors are strong at home, but we stayed calm and waited for our moment. Everyone fought for each other out there, that’s what Borough FC is about.”He added with a smile,

“When Sylvester scored, we all felt that relief. It shows that if you keep working, something good will happen. We’re proud to take all three points back home.”

The victory lifts Borough FC at top of the LFA First Division standings with four points from two games and highlights their growing reputation as one of the league’s most organized and determined sides.
