Monrovia – A 23-year old woman identified as Jessica Woloue is reported dead in a mysterious fire accident that gutted a single bedroom apartment in the Block E Community in Chicken Soup Factory on Tuesday morning of August 22, 2017 at about 4:AM.

In an interview with FrontPageAfrica (FPA), the Coordinator of the Block E Community in Chicken Soup Factory, Jerusa Y. Ankrah said the victim was locked up in her room by unknown individual(s) at the time her apartment was gutted in fire.
“For this one, a rogue has come to this identical house at about 1:00AM and then they locked her up in her room and also locked the next neighbor door, so it was very difficult. While she was fighting to open the door from within, the door was locked outside,” she said.
According to Madam Ankrah the cause of the mysterious fire that gutted the apartment is yet to be established by the community leadership, emphasizing that no suspect has been apprehended by local authority in connection with the accident.
“While she was fighting to open the door within, the door was locked outside.”
“So this fire is very difficult to detect, whether it was the criminal that cause the fire outbreak or the generator and other appliances in the room was the cause of the fire, is difficult to say,” she noted.
Ankrah said the Block E community is seriously confronted with criminals who usually attack residents of the community overnight, calling on national government to come to their aid to curtail the criminal activities in the community.
“We are in sympathy with the bereaved family and we felt so bad because she is a young lady, so we feel so hurt… this same accident took place in this community where properties were damaged, but there was no casualty,” she averred.
Also speaking to FPA, the husband of the victim, James Williams said he had left the house due to a misunderstanding to sleep elsewhere when the accident took place.
“I left them watching show in the house when I went to sleep somewhere else due to the misunderstanding between us.”
“But I understand that some criminals came in the community and locked everybody doors, maybe it was how her room door was locked while she was inside watching show,” he said.
Williams described the death of his fiancé as a surprise and setback to his future, calling on all well-meaning Liberians and philanthropists to come to his aid.
“The accident came as a mistake, I am left with nothing, but my concern now is my three years old kid, Prince Woloue.”
“You cannot be hustling and be thinking about whom your child will stay with, so my concern is the kid. Once my kid is okay I will be okay,” he lamented.
One of the eyewitnesses of the event, Rufus Mulbah said he was in his bedroom when he heard the victim shouting for help, but upon his arrival the entire house was already gutted by fire.
“I was in my bedroom when I heard the girl crying for help, but upon my arrival to the scene, the entire house was already on fire.”
“There was nobody who would quash the fire, because it was really blazing,” he asserted.
According to some residents, Jessica Woloue was a popular, friendly and caring young woman living together with her spouse peacefully in the community.
