The alleged rape of a sick female patient at the Monrovia- The alleged rape of an ailing female patient at the John F. Kennedy Hospital is still being investigated by the Liberian National Police after the suspect was turned over to the police by the hospital about a week ago.
Since the incident was reported, it has claimed much public attention with the Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia (AFELL), the Muslims Solidary Movement, all frequenting the JFK to visit the alleged victim and another lady who is now considered the witness as she shared the same room with the alleged victim during the time of the alleged rape.
While the police are still investigating, the father of the rape victim took his daughter to the Women of Hope International Medical Center in Paynesville six days after the incident for medical examination.
The medical examination report from the hospital, in the possession of FrontPageAfrica, indicates that the victim was sexually abused due to wounds and tears at the entry of the vagina.
Stated the medical report: “Healed scars of 3: and 9: o clock frenulum scars but healed. According to a medical personal, the 3:00 & 9:00, means, the scars run vertically on both sides of the vagina as the 3 and the 9 on a clock. Healed wounds and a tear at the entry but healed. Evidence of healed trauma in the vagina”.
Witness Mariama not dead!
It was reported on Monday that another lady who was in the same room as the alleged rape victim and is said to have witnessed the alleged act is dead but FPA has gathered that the lady is not dead.
When FPA visited the JFK Monday, a group, the Muslim Solidarity Movement said it visited the patient and confirmed that she is not dead.
“Mariama is alive but she is not speaking well as she did when she was confessing the rape she witnessed, because she was injected by nurses because when I spoke with Dr. Johnson, he told me that if Mariama dies, the government will be held liable. Johnson should understand that if anything happens to that girl, he also will be held liable,” said Mr. William Knowlden, Vice Chairman of the Islamic Solidarity Movement for Peace and Democracy.
“I am saying this, because after JFK criminally transferred Mariama from Room 303 to room 307 and told the victim’s father that she was discharged, it shows that JFK is conspiring, so we came here to do fact finding if the girl is dead. We want to tell JFK that this hospital was not an inheritance from their grandparents; it is our money that built this place. So we are sending this as a caveat to JFK to stop pushing this boat before they all be packing up and going back to America soon and work in those old folks homes. And we are going to be watching this case very closely, along with the community and other human rights organizations,” Knowlden said.
Also speaking, Mr. Joseph F. Mulbah, Chairman of Point Four community, he was allowed to see Marima.
“So, I saw Marima but she is very much deplorable and I was the one who sent her here from Redemption Hospital, but the condition she was in when she came, was not as worse as her present condition. She is speaking very slowly because she is not responding to treatment. I will go and report to the community what I saw because the entire community was about to charter three buses to come here, but I promised to come and see first and get back to them,” he mentioned.
The police has indicated that suspect Emmett Rogers is still in its custody and undergoing investigation.
