The Editor,
No good sleeping place in Monrovia for her besides the US Embassy compound. Do you expect the wife of the most powerful person on earth, The President of the United States of America to take bath with cold water in a bucket?
There is a reason she will not spend a night in Monrovia. Go figure that out if you don’t know by now so much so for a country “founded” by freed black slaves. Nearly 170 years of independence and still no good roads, no electricity, no clean drinking water, potholes roads, a broken healthcare system and a government notorious for corruption.
Mrs. Obama has been briefed on these problems in Liberia and you wonder why she refuses to even see the capital city. What is there to see except poverty, misery, underdevelopment and the hopelessness of a people who thought Africa’s first woman President was going to deliver a good life for her people but wasted 11 years in office. Don’t blame Mrs. Obama, blame Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
