Surkhon Termiz had been struggling to break down an energetic FK Turon side in Saturday’s Uzbekistan Super League clash until Nimely struck in the 43rd minute. The forward nodded home a pinpoint cross from the left, finally breaking the deadlock.
Nimely, who has consistently showcased his top form, continues to make a name for himself in Uzbekistan. The 24-year-old has managed to score 8 goals and provide four assists from 16 games.
The former Monrovia Club Breweries and Sparta Moscow forward currently ranks as the third-leading scorer in the 2023 Uzbekistan Super League.
Reflecting on the match, the 24-year-old stated, “It was an overall good day. They created several good opportunities, and our keeper made a great save at the end of the first half. Without that save, we might not have been able to secure the win.”
“It’s still early in the season, and we are fighting on multiple fronts. We have another important game coming up this week, but I don’t intend to slow down. I am always eager to improve and keep pushing myself,” Nimely added.
Speaking about their goals for the season, Nimely emphasized their focus on winning the title. He acknowledged the competition from other teams also vying for the top spot, saying, “We need to concentrate on ourselves, perform to the best of our abilities, and continue to accumulate points.”
“There’s always something to strive for and look forward to. I never feel like slowing down; my goal is constant improvement,” remarked the determined Liberian striker.
