Monrovia – As a mean of helping to ease the financial burden of its members during this global pandemic, the Sinkor Old Timers Sports Association, over the weekend, donated over 50 bags of 25-kg bags of rice to its members.
Making the distribution, the immediate past president of the Association, Paul Romeo David revealed that the funds were provided by some of its members in the US and Liberia.

David acknowledged that these are difficult times, adding that the global pandemic faced by the world has affected ‘everyone’s income’ and as such the leadership and others decided to step in.
“Those of our friends who are able to provide for our colleagues have decided to put together these 53 bags of rice. Every member of Sinkor will be entitled to one bag each,” he said.
He thanked all the contributors who made the donation possible. A total of US$750 was spent to purchase the rice.
With sporting activities and mass gathering being suspended because of COVID-19, the donation took place at the ELWA Community residence of one of its members.
Sinkor Oldtimers Sports Association, established in February of 1992 has been able to attend to the sporting needs of mostly retired footballers, who don’t have the full stamina to play along with the younger ones.
