According to him, the IAA is receiving numerous requests from different government entities, and he encouraged Internal Auditors to remain professional and independent in their line of duty. He made this statement at a general meeting on Friday.
Mr. David Kemah said: “We are currently receiving a high volume of audit requests from various government entities. We need everyone’s assistance as we have a significant workload to manage.”
He further encouraged auditors assigned to various government entities not to disregard their responsibilities and warned them to uphold professionalism, as the IAA will soon begin a process of staff evaluation.
“If you are not meeting expectations, you will be reassigned or placed under supervision.”
During the staff meeting, he also announced plans by the IAA to establish a special training department for in-house training to refresh staff’s skills.
“The IAA training department will function like a rapid response unit. If you encounter issues, you can call them, and they will have staff who can address problems encountered in the field. It’s crucial to fulfill your duties, and training will assist in achieving that.”
The meeting also aimed to honor six of the entity’s staff who received nominations from President Joseph Boakai to serve in different positions at various entities. Dubbed integrity icons, the four staff were honored for their valuable service to the country and the entity.
Those honored by the IAA are: Cllr. Charles Karmo II, Antoinette F. Dukuly, Amara Kamara, David Akoi, Randolph G. Natt, and Jefferson Tucker.
The honorees bid farewell to the Internal Audit Agency-Liberia and expressed how thrilled and honored they were to have received the prestigious Internal Audit Agency Ambassador Award.
“This recognition underscores our steadfast dedication to excellence, integrity, and the Agency’s mission. It motivates us to intensify our efforts and champion integrity and good governance wherever we go. We thank the Internal Audit Agency for this esteemed honor and commit to sustaining our pursuit of excellence.”
