Declaring, Gould said: “The Convention this year 2019 marks my last convention as your national chairman as I have decided not to seek re-election, ” Gould said.
Gould continued: “I am forever grateful to you for the support during my tenure as chairman. We are where we are today only because of you and indeed you have my highest honor.”
Gould is likely to be replaced by Gbarpolu County Senator Daniel Naatehn, who will probably go unopposed.
He is one of four lawmakers who won their posts on the ticket of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) in the 2017 General and Presidential Elections.
The Gbarpolu Senator is also one of the few vocal persons in the Senate. He can be remembered for describing one of the Senate’s plenaries as ‘uncomfortable and indecent.’
“You people are making this place uncomfortable and indecent for us and this Pro-Tempore is behaving like a dictator here on us,” Senator Naatehn said.
Senator Naatehn made the assertion Tuesday, November 6, 2018 during the Third day sitting of the Extra Session of the Liberian Senate in open plenary.
