Lofa Senator Jallah Donates L$500,000 to Sorlumba Residents, Citizens Hail Lawmaker for Renovating Historic School in Bolahun

SORLUMBA, Lofa County – In the wake rising tensions along the Liberia–Guinea border, Lofa County Senator Joseph Kpator Jallah has donated L$500,000 to residents of Sorlumba Town in recognition of their efforts to safeguard Liberia’s territorial integrity.

The senator also provided assorted food items to families affected by the situation and presented L$60,000 to security personnel assigned to the area to support ongoing monitoring operations.

Jallah commended residents for what he described as patriotic actions in responding to recent cross-border concerns involving Guinean soldiers. His intervention comes as authorities and communities in Lofa County remain on high alert following reports of incursions along the boundary.

Sorlumba Town, located in northern Lofa near the Guinean border, recently drew national attention after residents mobilized in response to Guinean troops crossing over to Liberian territory.

In a separate development, citizens in Bolahun Town, Wanhassa District, have praised Senator Jallah for spearheading the renovation of the historic St. Augustine Holy Cross Mission School.

The institution—one of the oldest in Lofa County and the Gbandi region—has played a key role in educating generations of Liberians, including current Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah and other prominent citizens.

In recent years, the school fell into disrepair following the withdrawal of government subsidies and declining local support due to financial constraints, creating challenges for both students and administrators.

Senator Jallah intervened by hiring engineers to rehabilitate the campus, restoring classrooms and improving the overall learning environment.

Residents, students, and school authorities recently gathered at the Episcopal Church in Bolahun to express appreciation for the senator’s support. The renovated campus now stands as a renewed symbol of educational progress in Lofa County.
