Monrovia – The Bridge Rural Communities for Trade (BRCT) has concluded a three day physical assessment of the Zwedru to Fish Town road.

Mr. Gbenimah Slopadoe, CEO of BRCT, said the road to the southeast is deplorable and at the verge of becoming impassable, even when the rainy season has not yet begun.
“The road is about to cutoff as it has been over the years,” he said.
“We are calling on southeasterners and other patriotic Liberians to say no to the road cutting off this 2017. We must find the resources needed to do everything humanly possible to prevent the road from cutting this year.”
He disclosed that there is a fundraising plan to be held in the latter part of this month to connect the southeast to the rest of the country.
“We need road building equipment, fuel and finances and place these in care of the Liberian Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE), as the implementing agency for community supervision of the Ministry of Public Works.”
Slopadoe, a former Representative of River-Gee County called on the southeastern Legislative Caucuses to chip from various county development funds so that the project can be successful.
BRCT was launched last month with an objective to connect five southeastern counties: Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, River Gee, Grand Kru and Maryland.
It is a non-profit organization with both local and international support.
