The Editor,
We all think that Weah knows what happened to the “missing money”. But a man gotta do what a man’s gotta do! So he, Weah, sets up a Commission to investigate the “circumstances surrounding money brought into the country by the Central Bank of Liberia”. (Re “No One Will Be Spared in L$15bn Saga’ – Pres. Weah”)
But what will happen if and when the commission report comes out?? Will the Weah administration adopt or implement its recommendations? Please ..
Nothing will come out of this so called “investigation. The Liberian government has a history of setting up commissions (to perform a particular task or duty), but NONE of the recommendation from these commissions are ever adopted or implemented.
Look at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC): The final report of the TRC was released on July 1, 2009. Since then, the past and present government have ignored all of their recommendations!
And what happened to the “investigation” of Exxon Mobil acquisition of oil block 13?? In April 2018, this same President Weah set up a special presidential committee to investigate Global Witness’ allegations of bribery and abuse of office by former officials of the Liberian government.
And on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, the special presidential committee presented its findings and recommendations to the President, but guess what happen?? Absolutely nothing! So far, the President have ignored ALL the committee’s recommendations!
So what makes you think that “No One Will Be Spared in L$15bn Saga”??
There is no reason to think that anything will happen if and when this “missing money and container” commission report comes out. But aren’t you tired with Weah blowing smoke up your rectums??
