DOHA, Qatar – Liberia’s newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Qatar, Mr. Mohammed B.O.S. Kenneth, has formally presented his Letters of Credence to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar.
The presentation ceremony, held on Wednesday, April 30 at the Amiri Diwan (Presidential Palace in Doha), marked the official start of Ambassador Kenneth’s diplomatic mission to the Gulf nation.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Kenneth conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to His Highness the Amir, emphasizing Liberia’s commitment to strengthening the long-standing relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Kenneth also highlighted President Boakai’s development priorities in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, education, and energy. He expressed the hope that Qatar would play a meaningful role in supporting Liberia’s efforts to implement its socio-economic development agenda.
“The Republic of Liberia is counting on Qatar’s continued support and assistance to enable the government to achieve its national development objectives,” Ambassador Kenneth stated.
In response, the Amir of Qatar welcomed the ambassador and expressed satisfaction with Liberia’s sustained political stability since the end of its civil conflict in 2003 and the successful conduct of democratic elections since 2005.
The Amir acknowledged Liberia’s development goals and encouraged the Liberian government to submit detailed proposals outlining areas where Qatari support would be most impactful. He assured that the Qatari government would review such proposals and take swift action to assist in their implementation.
Present at the ceremony were Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Bin Jassim Al-Thani, and other senior Qatari officials.
The accreditation of Ambassador Kenneth is seen as a renewed push by Liberia to deepen bilateral cooperation with Qatar, especially in areas vital to Liberia’s post-conflict development and economic revitalization.
