Paynesville City — Paynesville FC attacker Edward Ledlum believes local-based players are adapting to Lone Star’s head Coach Mario Marinica’s philosophy and approach.

The Paynesville FC midfielder- who is in excellent form this season, with a goal contribution of 17, scoring nine and providing eight assists so far, was named in Coach Marinica’s 30-man provisional squad.
The Lone Star head coach who signed a two-year contract, is famous for his fast-game philosophy which led his former side Malawi to the quarter-final of the AFCON in Cameroon.
The midfielder who had a brilliant performance campaign last season, winning the MVP in the League, expressed his impression of the Coach’s methods of playing fast football following the completion of a weeklong intensive training.
He said if the players can implement the fast approach that they have learned from the coaches during the training sessions, Liberia can achieve a better result against Djibouti in the 2025 AFCON preliminary qualifiers.
“It is been going well because we train two times a day and then we are trying to adapt to the new coach’s philosophy of fast football,” he said.
“We had three training sessions and we played a test match. Everything is very good. One step at a time and gradually we will get there. Everything is good, working relationship is very good.”
Ledlum praised the fresh lads who were called up to the squad- stressing that they had a fantastic start and following the instructions of the new Coach.
He said, “The local based, we put in more works we are open to putting smiles on Liberians’ faces again. I appreciate my teammates because everyone is putting in the 100 and we are following the coach’s instructions.”
He praised the coaches for some of the new things that were brought up during a training session, which included analyzing video sessions and briefings.
He told the LFA media, “We do a lot of things that over the past years we haven’t seen. A lot of strange things that are supposed to be in place are seen now. The coaches come with some professional things that we see out there.”
