
MONROVIA – The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Liberia Chapter successfully concluded its one-day National Peace Lecture Series at the University of Liberia auditorium. The event aimed to educate and inspire youth and citizens to uphold peace as a cornerstone of nation-building and development.

Among the distinguished lecturers was Ambassador Gerald Coleman, who urged young people to promote the doctrine of peace within their communities. Ambassador John Ballout also addressed the audience, commending the organizers for this meaningful initiative. He highlighted the five principles of peace for the newly appointed Ambassadors for Peace and reminded them that genuine peace begins with each individual.
UPF Liberia Chapter President Dr. Roosevelt G. Jayjay cautioned the new Ambassadors to remain steadfast in their peace messages. “It is crucial that you work with passion and ensure your contributions transform the lives of our people,” he stated.
Supporting this call, Secretary General of UPF Liberia, Ambassador McCarty G. Teayeh, challenged the new Ambassadors to view their roles in peace initiatives as integral to national development. He urged them to set positive examples in their communities, reinforcing the importance of peace in driving social progress.
The forum, which centered on peace as a fundamental pillar for national development, brought together academicians, students, professors, NGO leaders, government officials (both current and former), and Ambassadors for Peace. The event concluded with the commissioning of thirteen new Ambassadors for Peace, who received certificates of appointment.
The newly appointed Ambassadors for Peace include Ambassador Prof. Sekou W. Konneh, Ambassadors John Y. Tokpa, Samuel F. Argbason, Teddy E. Seyon, Charlene Abijah Sevee, Pitman T. Clement, Samuel ASA Cheneken, Boakai M. Kamara and Bettina B. Zeon. Others include Ambassadors Leona Y. Gono, Saydah Williamson Taylor, Alfreda BS Tozay and George Ayea Kamwie.
The new Ambassadors pledged to make a significant impact through their peace initiatives, emphasizing unity, togetherness, and proactive engagement within their respective communities. Their collective mission is to foster a culture of peace that contributes to sustainable national development.
