The vehicle, bearing license plate SEN-13, was en route from Nimba County to Monrovia when the accident occurred. According to initial reports, six passengers were on board and were rushed to the Kakata Health Center where two were pronounced dead. FPA gathered that one of the deceased is believed to be a security of the late Senator Johnson.

Health officials told FPA that four were badly injured and rushed to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia.

Footage from the scene shows victims lying unconscious, with the vehicle appearing to have veered off the road.

FPA reporter who visited the scene said the incident occurred around Steao’s Farm between Kakata and Weala in Cinta Township.

Officials from the late Senator Johnson’s office have yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.

Senator Johnson, a prominent figure in Liberian politics, passed away last week after reportedly collapsing due to high blood pressure and being rushed to the hospital.

FrontPage Africa continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Correction: This news has been updated to change the number of fatalities from four to two.
