Liberia’s National Open Time Trial Championship Kicks off Wednesday

Monrovia – The Liberia Athletics Federation (LAF) will hold this year’s National Open Time Trial Championship on Wednesday, April 26, at the UL’s Fendell Campus, beginning at 3:00pm.

The competition will bring together over one hundred athletes, both Liberians and foreigners, from schools, the communities and athletic clubs.
According to the LAF the competition is open to everyone, both female and male, Youth from 17 to 21 years of age while junior athletes will range from 17 to 22 years and Senior 19 years above.

The 2017 National Open Time Trial Championship will feature events such as 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, 4 x 400m relay and 1 x 100m relay.

At the end of the LAF annual events, 15 competitive Liberian athletes will be selected to represent the country in the Zone II Senior Championship and the ECOWAS Junior Championship, in the Male and Female categories, in Conakry, Guinea from 8 – 16 May.

The selected athletes will also join the already 20 athletes in camp for possible selection for future competitions that’s according the Liberia Athletic Federation.

LAF is therefore encouraging Liberians to turn out to seen athletics at its best as they will be entertained by some of best and competitive runners in Liberia.
