Liberia: Red Star Belgrade Confirmed for U19 Elite Tournament

The confirmation adds significant international prestige to the event, providing young talents with a rare opportunity to showcase their skills in front of one of Europe’s most historic and decorated clubs.

Bridging the Exposure Gap

While Liberia has consistently produced talented footballers, stakeholders say the country’s biggest challenge has not been ability but structured grassroots development and sustained international exposure.

Seeking to address that gap, entrepreneur Emma Jarnyneh is stepping into the football space this March with the launch of the U19 Elite Scouting Tournament.

After working across sectors including entertainment and agriculture, Jarnyneh’s latest initiative aims to create a direct pathway between Liberian youth talent and European football markets.

Organizers say the tournament is expected to attract scouts from several European clubs, including Chelsea FC, further boosting the event’s profile.

Opportunity on Home Soil

The four-day scouting showcase is designed to give Liberia’s emerging players a competitive platform on home soil, eliminating the financial and logistical barriers that often prevent local prospects from attending trials abroad.

With Red Star Belgrade’s confirmation and interest from additional European clubs, the tournament is shaping up to be one of the most high-profile youth scouting events hosted in Liberia in recent years.

For Liberia’s U19 prospects, March could present more than just a tournament it may be the beginning of international careers.
