The Precious Pearl Ireland Foundation, named in honor of a teenage girl tragically killed in a shooting incident at Cyber Ed Christian School in Congo Town in 2021, is dedicated to promoting positive youth development and preventing violence and drug addiction.

During the launch of the vacation program, Madam Ireland emphasized the foundation’s commitment to training young Liberians in basketball skills and providing valuable life coaching. The program also includes motivational speeches on character building, violence prevention, work ethics, time management, and the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

Madam Ireland expressed deep concern over the growing issue of drug addiction and violence among Liberian youth. She urged parents and the community to address this urgent problem by supporting programs like the Precious Pearl Ireland Foundation’s summer basketball program. She emphasized the importance of engaging children during vacations to prevent them from falling into destructive habits.

Highlighting the need for schools to take action, Madam Ireland called on administrators to implement appropriate policies to protect children and teach them how to prevent violence while emphasizing the importance of personal safety.

The foundation’s overarching mission is to preserve the memory of Precious Pearl while advocating against campus-based violence and drug addiction. By providing positive opportunities for young Liberians to engage in sports and receive guidance, the Precious Pearl Ireland Foundation aims to empower them to build better futures and contribute to a peaceful society.
