Liberia: Orange Liberia Unveils Digital Center Club and $120K Lab at Tubman University

HARPER CITY, Maryland County – Orange Liberia has officially launched a Digital Center Club at William V.S. Tubman University (TU) in Harper City, Maryland County. 

The launch also featured the dedication of a state-of-the-art Digital Lab, valued at $120,000, aimed at enhancing research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the region.

The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including Orange Liberia executives, local government officials, TU administrative and teaching staff, as well as students.

In his address, Orange Liberia’s CEO, Jean Maurice Yao, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting Liberia’s future by providing young people with skills in digital literacy, research, and software applications.

He highlighted that the new Digital Lab, equipped with computers, 3D printers, and advanced digital tools, will benefit both students and the broader community.

Orange Liberia’s Project Manager, Zaza Mulbah, described the initiative as a strong collaboration between Tubman University and Orange Liberia. He stressed that the Digital Lab would serve as a fully functional coding school and free learning space for students and aspiring entrepreneurs. “This is not just a learning space—it is a place that can transform your future if utilized effectively,” Mulbah stated.

TU President, Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, welcomed the new project, calling it “a major boost for digital learning and entrepreneurship.” He added, “This has been my vision—to make Tubman University a hub of innovation and enterprise. Thanks to our partners at Orange Liberia, this vision has now become a reality.”

Student Council Government President, Wendell Johnson, expressed the students’ gratitude for the new facility, saying, “This 21st-century digital lab will equip us with the skills needed for the digital age.”

Maryland County Superintendent Henry Cole, along with both City Mayors, also praised the initiative, describing it as a significant relief for local residents seeking access to modern digital learning tools.
