Monrovia – Cassell Kuoh, president of FC Fassell, has officially declared he will contest the Liberia Football Association (LFA) election as a presidential candidate, rejecting the suggestion of an uncontested ballot and calling for what he described as a transparent and credible electoral process.

Speaking after the LFA’s Extraordinary Congress, Kuoh made it clear that he intends to challenge incumbent Mustapha I. Raji in the upcoming election.
“Let us compete properly. If we are both confident in our records, let us test it. Let us face each other in an open, transparent, and credible election. Let the delegates vote freely. Let the better vision prevail,” Kuoh declared.
Kuoh Confirms Candidacy
Dismissing claims from opponents that his name would not appear on the ballot, Kuoh firmly stated:
“I shall be a candidate for President of the Liberia Football Association in this coming election, and my name will appear on the ballot despite claims made from our opponents. I will participate fully in this process. I will not stand on the sidelines. I WILL WIN.”

Criticism of Raji’s Address
Kuoh criticized Raji’s remarks at the Congress, describing them as lacking measurable evidence of progress.
“It was deeply disappointing to watch more than an hour of Congress time used by the LFA President to attack stakeholders, boldly campaigning, question motives, and settle personal scores, while almost nothing was presented in terms of hard evidence of progress,” Kuoh said.
He emphasized that Congress is a constitutional body and should not be treated as a campaign rally.
Democracy in Football
Kuoh described the Extraordinary Congress as a defining moment for the sport.
“Your presence demonstrates that football in Liberia is bigger than any individual and stronger than any division. When stakeholders show up, democracy in football lives,” he told reporters.
He congratulated members confirmed to serve on independent bodies, stressing their responsibility to safeguard the integrity of the upcoming election.
“The trust placed in you is not ceremonial. It is intentional and consequential. Your role is to protect the process, defend fairness, and ensure that the coming election is organized in a manner that reflects transparency, independence, and integrity. That independence is not optional. It is the backbone of credible football governance.”
Kuoh also welcomed new members who obtained full membership status, urging them to use their voting power wisely.
“Your voice now carries weight. Use it with wisdom. Use it with courage. Use it in the interest of football, not personalities.”
Kuoh’s Commitment
Highlighting his long-standing involvement in Liberian football, Kuoh expressed confidence in his readiness to lead.
“I have spent my entire football life winning, competing, building, investing, and improving this game. That commitment does not shrink when the stakes are higher. It grows stronger. I am ready to step forward and ready to offer myself to the delegates for a clear and decisive vote. Liberian football deserves nothing less.”
Kuoh’s declaration sets the stage for a direct contest with Raji in the upcoming LFA presidential election, signaling what could become one of the most closely watched leadership battles in Liberian football governance.
