MONROVIA – A social group comprising dominant Muslims situated on the Japanese Freeway, styled “Liberia Must Matter Movement,” has endorsed the second-term bid of the Weah-Taylor administration.

Over the weekend, the group, through its National Coordinator Kenneth Nuoho, expressed their desire to join forces with the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) to ensure the re-election of the ruling government. This decision was based on their longstanding friendship with Hon. Sekou Kalasco Damaro, Presidential Aide to President Weah.
According to Nuoho, Hon. Kalasco, a friend and brother to the Islamic community for many years, has shown genuine love and support. Therefore, it is time to rally with him to ensure that President Weah retains the presidency.
Nuoho stated, “For what President Weah has done through the advocacy of Kalasco, such as building an Arabic school for our Muslim sons and daughters and allowing MCSS schools to be closed and our girls to wear hijab during Islamic days, among other things, we, the Muslims, are resolved to rally with our brother Kalasco to ensure President Weah is re-elected.”
Nuoho said that the Liberia Must Matter Movement was divided during the first round of the election, and its supporters had to vote for their choices. However, this time, because of Kalasco’s efforts and genuine friendship with the Islamic community, the group is certain to support Weah-Taylor’s second term.
Hon. Kalasco, in response, appreciated his Muslim brothers and sisters for their support in standing alongside him to support the re-election of President Weah as President and Madam Jowell Howard-Taylor as Vice President.
“This endorsement is one of the best we have received in the Muslim community because you guys are our own. On behalf of President Weah, we say thank you. You can all be assured that the second term of President Weah will create more opportunities for Muslims to be more involved in the developmental aspect of the country,” Kalasco said.
