The incident took place in the New Kakata Community in Kakata, Margibi County, where suspect Prince Godfirst Kanneh reportedly attacked Freeman while attempting to steal his bluetooth headphone and absconded the scene.

However, suspect Kanneh was apprehended by police on Sunday afternoon in Barnerville, Monrovia where he’s currently being held in police custody.

According to reports, Freeman and his aunt had traveled from Monrovia to attend a family member’s graduation in Kakata. As they were making their way home, they were confronted by a group trying to steal Freeman’s headphone. When Freeman attempted to resist the theft, he was brutally stabbed in the neck with a sharp object.

Despite being rushed to Kakata Health Center, Freeman was pronounced dead by doctors on call at 10:30 p.m., approximately three hours after the attack.

The incident has raised serious public safety concerns in Kakata City.

Meanwhile, police continue their investigation and are searching for additional suspects connected to the crime. Authorities are, however, urging residents to remain vigilant as they work to enhance security in the county.
