The security forces include officers of the Arm Forces of Liberia ( AFL), Liberia Immigration Services (LIS) and other specialized security units.
These forces have been strategically dispatched from Maryland and several South-East Counties, including Nimba County, which shares a significant portion of the border with Ivory Coast.
During an inspection tour of Buutuo and Loguatuo Borders in Nimba County, security personnel were visible in large numbers, stationed at key border points.
Their primary objective is to safeguard Liberia’s borders, prevent illegal crossings and ensure that the elections in the Ivory Coast proceed without any spillover of conflict or disturbances onto Liberian soil.
The security situation on the Liberian side remains calm and orderly.
Residents living near the borders have shown no signs of unrest or intention to cross into Ivory Coast to interfere with the election process.
Community members continue with their daily activities peacefully, reflecting a stable environment.
Similarly, observations and reports from the Ivorian side indicate a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. No signs of unrest or disruptive activities have been detected as the country braces for this important electoral event.
Local authorities and securities forces remain on high alert, ready to response swiftly to any potential threats.
Collaborative efforts between Liberia and Ivory Coast security agencies are ongoing to maintain border securities and support peaceful elections.
This proactive deployment underscores the government’s commitment to regional stability and peaceful international relations, especially during times of critical democratic processes in neighboring countries.
