KINJOR, Grand Cape Mount County – The leadership of Grand Cape Mount County has declared that winning the Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division title in the 2025/2026 season is now a top priority for FC Bea Mountain, the county’s flagship football team.

Mohammed Kughan Darame, Chairman of the Grand Cape Mount Sports Steering Committee, made the statement on behalf of the county, expressing disappointment with the club’s recent performance.
FC Bea Mountain, sponsored by Bea Mountain Mining Corporation, finished fifth in the just-ended 2024/2025 LFA First Division League.
Speaking to reporters, Darame emphasized that despite the club’s consistent participation in Liberia’s top football league for more than five seasons, it has yet to capture a single championship title.
“Citizens of the county are not happy with their standing in Liberian football,” he said. “We want the team to go back to the drawing board and be better prepared for the upcoming season.”
He added that Cape Mountians expect their team to rise to the level of title-winning clubs from Montserrado and Nimba Counties.
“FC Bea Mountain is the most popular and successful team in our county’s history. It’s time they deliver the LFA First Division trophy. That’s why we are seeking a new head coach with the tactical discipline and experience to push us to the top,” Darame said.
He confirmed that team officials are in discussions with a former coach of Heaven Eleven FC, and talks are progressing well.
“As soon as we secure his services, training will begin immediately. The new coach must identify the best talent—choose the sheep from among the goats—and prepare them adequately before the season starts,” he noted.
Darame also made it clear that the new coach will operate under a merit-based policy for player selection.
“No player will be kept on the team because of friendship or official pressure. Only performance and commitment will determine who stays on the roster,” he stressed.
While praising Bea Mountain Mining Corporation for its consistent sponsorship, he urged the company to collaborate more closely with club officials as the team rebuilds ahead of the 2025/2026 campaign.
“The management has done well, but they now have to be hands-on with this process. We want the trophy next season, and that means starting preparations now,” he said.
