Monrovia – Orphans of the Great Commission in the densely populated community of Chicken Soup Factory on the Somalia Drive, Gardnerville were excited as they sang and danced after a group of workers from the Judiciary under the banner Gardnersville Bus Association (GBA) donated to them a consignment of food items.

Before the food items were presented to the head of the orphanage home, J. Gabriel T. Smith, Clerk of the Criminal Court “A” at the Temple of Justice indicated that the donation was the association’s way of identifying with the less-fortunate in society.
Clerk Smith said workers of the Judiciary living in the Gardnerville Township usually conduct devotion on the bus, but some of the workers proposed that after devotion they should give offering which should go toward charity.
He said during the association’s eight years of existence there has been series of donations, and the first donation was made to the deaf and dumb in the Chocolate City and the blind in Barnesville.
The donation to the Great Commission Academy is the third, as the group plans to make another donation to the Monrovia Central Prison.
“This is a little organization and that we have decided to use the celebration of our 8th anniversary to do this donation and this is what God has laid his hand for us to give,” said Smith.
The items donated to the orphan academy include, six bags of rice, cartoons of fish and chicken, salt, vita bating soap and clothes among others, and Smith puts its estimate cost at LD$20,530.00.
Madam Nellie Mulbah the head of the Great Commission Academy thanked the group for the food donations indicating that the lack of food was a major problem at the orphanage home.
“Thank all of you for the gift; things are not easy especially for food because when it is not available the children can leave this place. But God says that if you care for needy I will care for you,” said Madam Mulbah.
She also appealed to other humanitarian organizations to come to the aid of the orphans and also thanked the Christian Aid Ministries for support to the academy.
The Great Commission Academy and orphanage home, according to its proprietor, was established in 1994.
