Capitol Hill – Bong County Electoral District 6 Representative Moima Briggs Mensah, one of the signatories to the resolution that expelled fellow lawmaker Yekeh Y. Kolubah from the House of Representatives says she has no remorse for her action and is prepared to do it as many times possible without hesitation.

Speaking at a news conference at her Capitol Building office in Monrovia, Rep. Briggs Mensah described the expelled lawmaker as the most corrupt and pretentious she has ever seen in the legislative corridor.
“I signed to remove Yekeh Kolubah, and I would sign a 27 times again. This is a serious place for business in the interest of Liberia and not a place for jokes and stealing.”
Rep. Mensah accused Kolubah of undermining colleagues and prioritizing personal gain over national duty, while at the same time acting like a saint in public.
She pointed out that while other lawmakers worked to deliver development in their districts, Kolubah often disrupted efforts and sought attention through the media.
“We have suffered in this place for years, working hard in our districts, and someone comes to denigrate colleagues and act like the most perfect person; meanwhile, he is more corrupt than any of us.”
The Bong County lawmaker also referenced past tensions within the Legislature, noting that during the 54th Legislature, she resisted endorsing a resolution to expel him, but now believes the situation involving Kolubah warrants firm action.
Rep. Briggs Mensah further criticized what she described as controversial statements and actions by Kolubah that has to do with the Liberia-Guinea border conflict, which she noted, risked damaging Liberia’s image, particularly in relation to sensitive national issues.
“This place is meant for serious work for Liberia’s interest and you have other business, go manage it elsewhere. Go manage your properties in Ghana or in Dubai. It’s time to manage them properly.”
As she reaffirmed her support for the expulsion process, she craved that the decision be upheld.
Meanwhile, Rep. Briggs Mensah has disclosed plans to return to her district this weekend for community engagement activities, including meetings supported by the Women Legislative Caucus in collaboration with UN Women Liberia.
