Gbarpolu County – More than two thousand Citizens of Gbarpolu County District #1 have petitioned Representative Alfred Koiwood to re-contest a seat in the Legislature during upcoming October Representatives and Presidential elections.

Alfred Koiwood is Gbarpolu County district 1 incumbent lawmaker seeking reelection.
The citizens in their petition statement said Representative Alfred Koiwood is a development oriented humanitarian personality who has made substantial gains in changing the lives of people in the district.
The well attended petition ceremony witnessed by the local county officials, traditional Chiefs, elders, residents and citizens was held yesterday at the Small Henry Town Market Hall, Bambu Clan Bopolu district, Gbarpolu County situated in Western Liberia.
According to the people of Gbarpolu County district 1, the Congress for Democratic Change lawmaker is productive, resourceful, and has the ability to get things done effectively for the constituency.
Mr. Gayflor Lewis reading the citizens appeal, further said Representative Koiwood is always in the business of identifying with churches and mosques whenever he is called upon.
‘’Knowing that people in rural areas usually sleep in darkness, the lawmaker upon his ascendency acted speedily by providing nine new generators for the electrification of eight towns and villages amounting to twelve thousand united states dollars (US$12,000.00).
In his quest of providing safe drinking water for his people, the CDC lawmaker has erected five hand pumps at a cost of eleven thousand two hundred and fifty dollars (US $11,250, 000) for four communities in Bopolu City and several other chiefdoms’’.
The citizens asserted that Representative Koiwood has provided over two million Liberian dollars for women in Gbarpolu County to start their own businesses.
Accepting the petitioner’s request, Gbarpolu County district 1 Representative Alfred Koiwood applauded the citizens for the reaffirmation of their support.
“I Hon. Alfred G. Koiwood do hereby accept your petition request to re-contest the district’s seat in the Legislature comes October of this year and based on your commitment I believe we have won the election,” he said.
I am very much gratified for such a timely ceremony because of my developmental initiatives you have seen and continue to feel.
“This torn out trouser that you people get today, your please be cheerful with this torn out trouser he urged citizens of his district.
Many people in other districts have heard what Representative Koiwood is doing and they are looking for this torn out trouser saying we prefer you to be in our district.
Let us maintain this torn out trouser that you people have, he admonished the multitudes of supporters gathered under the Small Henry Town market site.
The Gbarpolu County district 1 Representative Alfred Koiwood also blasted people he called his critics speaking negatively about his developmental activities in the district.
‘’We have lots of misguided politicians. For every work I do or carried out in the district they come and mislead you people that Representative Koiwood using County Development Funds.
Hon. Koiwood using state resources, your please be asking some of them hard question to establish if only Hon Koiwood is the elected person in this county that will be using the state resources’’.
He told cross section of citizens during the petition ceremony that he’s using his own money to funds projects in the district contrary to claims of using government resources.
Lawmaker Alfred Koiwood described those reporting falsehood about his activities as miss guided politicians who are opting to blackmailing him.
