Residents of the 72nd Community woke up to a horror scene on Monday following the discovery of the body with deep cuts to several parts.
The husband of the deceased, Saika Kanneh, speaking to reporters on the scene said his wife left her Rock Hill’s residence on Saturday night and did not return.
According to him, the deceased lived in Paynesville along with their son, Othello, while he lives in Mattadi, Sinkor. Despite the distance apart, Kanneh said his wife and son would always visit him over the weekend.
“Normally, every Sunday she comes to my house. But the whole of yesterday [Sunday] I didn’t hear from her, and at 2: pm I started to call her but I could not get her. And then I remembered she told me that she was going to a memorial service to Harbel. So, I didn’t bother to call her again. Later I tried calling her but did not hear from her until I saw this on Facebook,” Kanneh explained.
Kanneh explained that his wife had earlier called him at 8: pm Saturday night to inform him that her phone was running out of current and after and was putting it on charged. She promised to call him after it is charged but later she called back and said the charging booth was closed. However, he narrated that his son told him that after she dropped the line with him (Kanneh), she received another call and left the house.
